Kimberly’s Kaleidoscope

April 16th, 2008

The snow is falling. Trees, houses, yards, and cars are beautifully draped in white. Suddenly the world looks clean and new again. This fresh snow reminds me of the “clean slate” God offers me each day when He tells me, “My mercies are new every morning.”

Each day is a new beginning offering me the choice to be happy or sad, to be helpful or hurtful, to inspire or condemn, to grow or to stay the same. Recent months have taught me that outside situations must not override my inner choices. I choose happiness. I choose contentment. I choose thanksgiving. I choose health. I choose faith. I choose trust. I choose to surrender.

In 2008, I have but one priority: to daily align myself in His perfect will. I have great expectation and hope for the things He has promised for you and for me in this the Year of New Beginnings.

July 10th, 2007
Can it really be July? Is it me or do the days seem to be flying by? During these first six months I have enjoyed working toward some of my 2007 goals. March was a breakthrough month! I can still remember the feeling of excitement and relief as I opened a box of books that had my name as the author. One of my dreams had become a reality, and the job God gave me to do was finally complete. I am thankful that God has opened many personal doors for speaking and ministry through this book.
Julianna is 2½ and full of life— her energy seems to have no limits. She is into “Little People” things, coloring, wooden puzzles, Spanish, and riding bikes with Daddy. Her dramatic chatter has given us many funny moments and a few embarrassing ones. In January, during a week-long revival, Jason was making his way to the pulpit when Julianna hollered out, “Mommy, I’m all done with Jesus. I’m ready to go to the nursery.” We had difficulty recovering from that one—people were rolling. I told the pastor’s wife what Julianna really means is that she loves Jesus but is tired of “church.” (I have to admit, sometimes I can relate).
Well, change is in the air for my family. We have been blessed to enjoy thirty-seven years without sickness or family tragedy. Now is a season for us to know Jesus in a whole new way. He is teaching us that He is more than enough. Jason, Julianna, and I will be staying at Mom and Dad’s house during this time of healing for my dad. Julianna is so happy to be at Mimi and Grampa’s house where she is sure to be spoiled—we hope to leave off the rotten part.
I am excited to be in my home church, a place where I first learned the value of a soul. I asked God to connect me immediately with hungry people in the St. Louis area. (The best way to stay on top of your own problems is to focus on others). During my first week here, God led me to Luis by way of the dry cleaners. It just so happens that Luis had been praying for a new church home. On his first visit (July 1), he was beautifully filled with the Holy Ghost. This was another personal confirmation that God is going to prosper our ministry here with harvest.
Your prayers and support by ways of friendship and finance have allowed us to touch many lives so far in 2007. We are indebted to you and are grateful for your investments in Triumph Ministries. We covet your prayers in the coming transitional months.
Believing,
Kimberly

2007 is in our hands. Are you as excited as I am at the thought of a fresh start, a clean slate, a year full of possibilities?I welcome the reality of 365 new days awaiting me to make a difference.

I decided to give you a little peak into my top 7 priorities. In 2007, I want to:
*Know Him, hear Him and obey Him better.
*Be a more sensitive and insightful wife.
*Increase my perception, creativity and patience with my little princess
*Spend more time mentoring and discipling my new spiritual babies.
*Be a better friend to the home missionary wives God has connected me to.
*Gain wisdom and the ability to share it through the ministry of writing.
*Establish new friendships with people and see them won to the Lord.
Along with these 7, I also want to be a better communicator to all of you, our partners and friends. I am praying for ways to help us stay better connected and to encourage each other’s dreams. I borrowed the following words as a humorous prayer for you. May peace break into your house and thieves steal your debts. May the pockets of your skirts be a magnet for $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and laughter assault your lips. May your clothes smell of success and happiness slap you across your face and your tears be those of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address. In simple words, I pray 2007 will be the best year of your life. Author Unknown2007—

September 6th, 2006

Aaahh—my favorite time of year is here. I love evening walks in the crisp fall breeze, the smell of burning leaves, and the thoughts of possible hayrides and apple-picking adventures. Reality tells me this is also the season for me to finish up all of my 2006 goals.

My book, “The Busy Woman’s Guide to Soul Winning—How to Win People Everywhere You Go” is nearing completion. This book will have fourteen chapters and will include a 2-3 page study guide for each chapter, to be used for personal use or for small groups. I am ecstatic about the idea of sending it to the publisher and being done with my part. I am trusting God with all the rest. Your encouragement on this tremendous undertaking has really helped to keep me afloat and given me courage to get it finished.

Julianna is twenty-months old already. She is talking up a storm—I know you’re shocked—Hee Hee! The other day she observed me getting hit in the face with a phone charger as I bent to plug it in the outlet. “Ow, ow”, I said. Julianna looked up at me, patted my arm and said, “I will hold you”. I melted.

This week Julianna’s favorite thing to play is “Ring around the Rosie”. She falls all the way down, lays flat on the floor and giggles and giggles. When I went to get Julianna out of bed yesterday, she was standing up singing, “Ashes, ashes”.

Julianna loves other children. I have to drag her out of church nurseries. This is a problem I am quite thankful for. As you can see, water is the ultimate play toy for Julianna—so far.

She is very personable, electronically-oriented and melancholy beyond imagination. Julianna walks around picking up fuzz on the floor-calling them “Uh-oh’s”, closes doors, and lines up her shoes in matching pairs. She appears to be quite a balance of Jason’s sanguine and my melancholy personality and enough of our choleric nature to let her opinion be known loud and clear. Julianna brings so much joy to us. I hope you will enjoy her smiles below.

Thank you for loving us and for being on our team!

Happy Fall,

Kimberly

Welcome

August 21st, 2006

Where has this year gone? I find myself holding onto the days trying to squeeze out every little minute of this precious gift called time. There are days when I wish I could view things more like our Father—“one day is as a thousand years to the Lord”. Imagine how much we could accomplish with a time clock like that. Of course, we would need a double caramel latte to jumpstart that day. I hope your summer is slow enough for you to enjoy it.

As a mommy, everyday is a learning experience for me as I watch Julianna explore life. She is now walking and able to find adventure on her own.

Being outdoors and helping me tend to our flowers is one of Julianna’s favorite things to do. She plucks off the pretty ones while I prune the dead ones, as if to say, “Why would you want to keep those?”

Julianna has invented a new language, ‘Julianese’ which is quite a little mouthful of jibber jabber chatter. She very well knows what she means—if only we could. Dogs are another of Julianna’s loves. On one of her many walks during our month in Madison, MS, she tried her best to get a German Shepherd up in the stroller with her. It was quite a sight!

My book has become a daily companion, friend and foe. I am working hard to meet my August deadline. My prayer is that it will be a tool to enhance the lives of women who really want to make a difference in their world. We’ve made a preview of the book in the condensed CD available July 1.

Your friendship brings refreshing encouragement. Your prayers bring strength. Your support brings ability to keep forging ahead. Thank You.

Always,

Kimberly
